Galleries

The Galleries can be accessed by the buttons on the left, but this page serves as an introduction and overview of each gallery.

Mostly Ducks - Wildfowl have always been a favourite of mine and I enjoy the challenge of photographing these birds in flight. I have included Moorhens and Coots in this gallery - hence the mostly.......

Seabirds - Another interesting group of birds and most of the photographs in this Gallery are from the UK which has excellent seabird colonies around it’s coastline.

Bosque Del Apache - One of my favourite places to practice the art of bird photography.

Florida - I spent 8 weeks in Florida at the start of 2005 and these pictures represent a selection of my favourite images. Of all the places I’ve been to in the World, I would say that Florida has the tamest birds - and this leads to great photography opportunites.

Galapagos - Anyone that is interested in natural history will want to visit the Galapagos Islands that were made famous by Chrales Darwin and the Voyage of the Beagle. .

Hawaii and Midway - Hawaii with it’s unique honeyeaters and diverse scenery, is a complete contrast to the small flat dot in the middle of the Pacific Ocean that is Midway. The tameness of the birds on Midway reminds me of the Farne Islands, but on Midway there are 3 species of Albatross, Tropic Birds and Fairy Terns in place of the atlantic auks and arctic terns. A truly magical place, despite most of it being covered in military concrete!

Namibia - One of the most stable countries in Africa, Namibia has the highest sand dunes in the World, incredible quiver trees and the remarkable Etosha national park absolutely brimming with game and a real elephant hot spot. The food is excellent as well!

South America - The ‘bird continent’ with it’s massive rainforests is one of the most difficult places to get good bird photographs and has been neglected compared to other regions. It remains a firm favourite with me however and hopefully this gallery might inspire more photographers to visit the region.

Panoramics - These pictures were taken on a fuji 6cm x 17cm camera and add a new dimension to the landscape picture.
